ArtColLab's first project is a collaboration between British shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood and Canadian artist Paul Kneale, launched in September 2019. The super limited edition collection (150 pairs in total) includes 3 variations of NK’s signature BEYA shoe for women, with the print based on Paul Kneale’s artworks. Sustainability is at the heart of the design, with every element of the shoe made from biodegradable, recycled or eco-friendly materials. Handmade in a small family-run factory in Italy, the shoes are a reimagined classic and marry high craft and tradition with contemporary design. Profits from each sale will go to creating more opportunities for young artists to present their work at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, and to continue to make contemporary art accessible to the public.
